Stef Tor - Canadian Wakeskater

About Me

My name is Stef Tor I am 25 years old. My birthday is July 21, 1979 I am originally from Niagara Falls, Canada. I moved to Florida to Wakeskate in April 2003 and have been here ever since. In the News...

I was just featured in the March issue of Wakeboarding Magazine for my pro model Sattelyte "Holywood" as well as my new signing to the Epic Team as their first female rider. I am on the cover of the March Issue of Allliance Wakeboard UK that is
coming out with a 10 page featured interview, as well I am featured in the March Issue of SBC Wakeboard. I did two photo shoots at the end of 2004 which was for those three mags coming out in March. I am also starring in a Women's Wakeboard/Wakeskate documentary coming out the end of 2005.

I am also on the following websites:

Plans for 2005

I just got a 2005 Wake Edition Seadoo same one that is on the pro tour pulling wakeskaters. I am planning to do the Pro Tour this year in 2005 as well as Nats Worlds and whatever other contest offers a Wakeskating division.

I have been riding with one of my good friends Bryan Dawley (brain child of the Cassette bi-Level wakeskate) for the past year and a half. I have also had the pleasure to ride with guys like Danny "Mo Town" Molina, George Daniels, Chase Gregory, and Kyle Hyams, who all ride the pro tour. I also ride with my roommate Courtney Dutson, who has a Master Craft X Star. Riding with her and behind her boat really helped me last season to become a more all around wakeskater.

Riding Background

My riding background comes from competing wakeskating and wakeboarding behind the cable hitting sliders, to wakeskating behind a Seadoo / Jet ski, to a boat. This has helped me progress and has given me the ability to ride any way in any form for wakeskating. That really helped when we found out Nationals was behind a boat. We also have 4 sliders on our lake that has helped me to become more aggressive with sliding.

The Off-Season

As for my off season, it does not really relate to Florida's weather and wakeskating, but being from Canada and snowboarding and skiing since I was 9 ( that's like 12 years!!) I am still very passionate about it...very! I just got back from Colorado last week. We went snowboarding up there for a week with friends. Next is Colorado in April and maybe Washington...and hopefully Utah sometime soon as well.

I think that I was the only Florida resident that stayed home to watch the entire 2005 Winter X-Games. Last winter I was lucky and got to snowboard in Colorado twice, Tahoe and Canada.

As for traveling this year, I have the Pro Tour set which is 5 different stops, Worlds in OZ ,and maybe I'll travel to England too. I will definitely be back in Canada for some Lake Shralpin!

As for past travels, I spent 3 months in South Africa in 2002 wakeboarding with the S.A Team, spent a month in England and Spain in 2002 wakeboarding, and I went to Seattle and Texas this past summer to do some wakeskating.

Other Than Wakeskating...

I started surfing last summer since I moved to Florida, and last winter I joined The NBL and started BMX racing. I also skateboard a lot. I have my degree in Fashion, so my favorite past time to do when I am not wakeskating is to SHOP! When I am not riding, I manage a surf /skate shop here in Orlando.
