Sidewayz Newz 03.08.04 Part of the country is already out there on the water. Here in Boise its still a little cold yet. However it has been warm enough to ride my bike to work. After bumming rides for the last month since my transmission went out I decided to start riding my bike to work. It feels sort of liberating in a hippie/anarchist I don't have to pay for car insurance or gas kind of way. Reflections and Underestimated will be hitting the streets this week. There has been high anticipation for the release of both these films, and Murphys Law has seemed to taunt us during the duplication of both. Underestimated will finally be here today or tomorrow. Reflections will be done and ready to ship by the end of this week as well. Teasers: Roll up your
sleeves, peg your pants, and get ready for a flock of west
coast wakeboarders! Rockin an obscure but recognizable 80s
soundtrack, Untouchable Sound should be available the second
week of March. Brought to you by Brian Barton and Chris
Smith of Offcell, this film looks to be pretty popular. If
you like 80s tunes as much as me, this film is sure to get
you pumped. After spending his adolescence engrossed in the
new wave scene, (although he prefers to remember himself as
a punk rocker) Ronn Siedenglanz seemed torn amidst various
emotions during the 80s soundtrack, like a sober alcoholic
in a bar fighting to stay on the wagon while caught in a
blaze of emotions and urges. Even if you claim you hate 80s
music, I think this film is going to grab you, if for no
other reason than the riding you receive visually will be
subconsciously telling your mind, I like what Im
experiencing. You spin me right round baby! Untouchable Sound teaser: Running on Empty, brought to you by the guy who made My Side, Sean Kilgus of BFY Productions, should be available around the 18th of March. My Side was a very solid film and one of the top 5 best sellers of last season. DO NOT HESITATE TO BUY THIS FILM!!! Running on Empty is a top notch film and will be a best seller this year. Sean Kilgus is one of the most dedicated and passionate filmers out there and it shows in his work. Sean has been Running on Empty, he didnt come from a well-to-do family that was able to provide all the equipment he needed, Sean has come up from the school of hard knocks and works hard on his projects. Support Sean and get his film, I promise you it will be good. There is a premier Saturday at the Kane Hall on UW Seattle Campus at 7:30. Its only 5 bucks so if you live in that area you should go. Seriously. I talked to Sean on the phone last week and got a little info on Running on Empty. There is some great helicopter footage in Keith Lymans part. Keiths part is bangin, sooo good! When Sean talked about Aaron Reeds part he was very excited. Sean said that this was his favorite video part he has ever edited. This is the best wakeskating footage of Aaron Reed. Sean said that Chad Sharpes part is like a Parks part in a Sidewayz video. According to Sean this is Chad Sharpes best riding in any video part ever. Chads section has him doing every trick he can do and massive off the double up; 70 percent of his section is off the double up. Danny Harfs sections has tons of style, and good double ups. Andrew Atkinson, with what may be his defining video part, throwing down everything in the book, in the words of Sean, Andrew is one of the best tech riders out there, he has his own style and own way of doing tricks. There is lots of good local stuff too. Rusty Malinowski, this kid will blow you away with some of the sickest riding of the video, massive double ups, he has potential to be rookie of the year next year. Theres also a bunch of cameos from all the other big guys. One of the coolest things about the video is that it has lots of locations all over the states: Nor Cal, Florida, Oregon, Washington, Montana, and more. Its nice to see a wide range of scenery Running on Empty teaser: We are releasing all the classics on DVD this year. The Hype and Six Pack combo DVD will be out towards the end of this month. Hype was the first of the Hyperlite team videos to come from Sidewayz. With one of the most memorable Parks sections ever and so much good stuff, everyone should have this DVD. Six Pack was one of the first films to take everyones parts seriously instead of just jumbling everyone into a video. These are two classics showing the evolution of the most predominant riders of today. Thank you for the support and great feedback from all of you concerning Welcome. The Welcome release was a huge success. For those of you who have not yet seen it here is another teaser to wet your appetite: Welcome2 The new movie guide is up on the Sidewayz site. It contains info on producer, available formats, running times, MSRP, descriptions, and user ratings. www.sidewayz.com The biggest thing since double cheeseburgers is coming this year, the Byerly film. Rumors are floating that there may be a sneak preview party in Florida for Byerly's birthday |
