WAKESKATE COMPANY SATTELYTE BOASTS “MADE IN CANADA,” AND TAKES HOLD OF CANADIAN WAKESKATE MARKET.

Waterloo Ontario, July 29 2004—Sattelyte Wakeskates, a Canadian owned company has developed a line of boards using hardrock Canadian maple. It is the very first Canadian wakeskate company, and is cornering the homeland market, giving American-owned firms a run for their money. The co-founders of Sattelyte Wakeskates (www.sattelyte.com ) have long histories with board sports, and have poured their energy into bring wakeskating to the masses.

“We really wanted to create a product that everybody at all skill levels could enjoy, but was also durable and strong enough for riders to achieve their goals,” says Sattelyte co-owner Emily Pattison. “Our boards are made from Canadian hardrock maple—and having a 100% Canadian company is important for us,” adds Garry Munce, co-owner of Sattelyte.

Pattison has been a figure on the wakeboarding scene for years, while Munce’s background is in snowboarding and skating. Both draw from their experience to make their wakeskates accessible to people from all sports backgrounds. “We want to bring wakeskating to everyone,” says Munce, “it’s fun.

Pattison and Munce are currently working on the 2005 model line, which will include innovative designs such as a mini-urban model, “Mr Stubbs,” for back-yard tow-ins and the Sattelyte Concave. There is a clothing line, which currently carries tees and sweatshirts, but will be expanded to include a ladies’ line for 2005. All goods can be viewed on the website at http://www.sattelyte.com/goods.html.

In recent news, Sattelyte Wakeskates has signed on Stef Tor as their first pro rider. She is based out of Orlando and has her own model and bio, viewable on the website (http://www.sattelyte.com/team.html). Mark Rennie, based on Ontario has signed on as Sattelyte’s first amateur rider. Sattelyte supports professional and amateur Canadian riders.

Sattelyte Wakeskates is developing ground-breaking products with solid
style, pioneering the way forward in the Canadian wakeskating community.  If you would like to demo a board, send an email to
