Ontario Championships Update...With the huge growth in riders and
market, the OWA and XCUP will be stepping it up on the wakeskate side
of things. Our last event was evidence of this growing trend, and for
Haliburton we will be adding a separate wakeskate course, and an early
morning qualifier to get the boys the best water of the day. Open
registration up to 20 riders, and a 6 man final to cap it off midday.
We will have a couple in ground rails courtesy of Jesse Page, Gaston
Gagnon, Paul Saberton and the boys at L13 that have provided the means
and the manpower for rails at Ottawa and Huntsville.
The wakeskate qualifier will run behind the Northland Recreation Seadoo
and run the same path as we saw at Rock the Wake, and the beginners
will run the traditional XCUP pass along the south shoreline. The
double duty boats, as we saw in Huntsville allowed us to pull 97
riders, our all time highest turnout.

An
Impressive Story of a Canadian Wakeboarder - Penetang -
March 12 2004—One night in January of last year we were
discussing the benefit of purchasing an old school bus to use as the
main headquarters of the [wakeboard] school. Plus it would be a mobile
base, which means we would be able to travel around and visit different
places in our area. ...a week later he had purchased a mid-size school
bus and had it parked outside of his home...That winter the wheels were
turning as another idea was born. Ruston had thought about taking the
school bus idea a little further and transform the bus into a mobile
surf shop. He would call it the "School Bus Surf Shop". Full LetterPerformance
