From the 12th
to 14th of August, the City of Portage la Prairie
will host the third annual Coors Light Silver Summer
Throwdown (referred to as Throwdown from this point
forward). Located in beautiful Island Park, Throwdown will,
once again, offer spectators some of the most exciting
extreme sports competition that Manitoba has seen to date.
Throwdown will include four competitions/demonstrations:
Pro-Am wakeboarding comp, armwrestling challenge,
skateboarding demos, along with the crowd-favorite, bikini
contest. New for the 2005 event will be the addition of the
Coors Light – Suzuki FMX Team which will be
performing their high-flying stunts on Saturday, August 13.
Throwdown will feature competitors from across Central
Canada as well as the Northern United States.
In addition to actual competition, Throwdown’s festivities
will include the Silver Bullet Beer Garden, food services,
marine and extreme sport merchandise showcased in our
rider’s village, as well as on-site DJ’s. On the night of
Saturday, August 13th, Coors Light presents the
Silver Slam After-Party featuring some of Manitoba’s hottest
DJ’s and MC’s!
The event hours are as follows:
Friday, August 12th - 5:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 13th - 9:00 a.m. to 9:00
